Root canal treatments
A root canal, also called endodontic treatment, allows you to save a tooth whose pulp (the nerve) is infected or damaged. By removing the infection and carefully sealing the inside of the tooth, it is often possible to avoid extraction and preserve your natural tooth.
At Brome-Missisquoi Dental Centre, we use modern techniques to offer precise, effective treatments performed with the utmost concern for your comfort.

When is a root canal treatment necessary?
Your dentist might recommend a root canal if you have:
-
Persistent or severe dental pain
-
Prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold
-
A dental abscess
-
An infection of the dental pulp
-
A tooth that is deeply fractured or severely affected by decay
What to expect?
The treatment involves removing the infected pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the tooth's canals, and then filling them to prevent further infection. A restoration, often a crown, is then recommended to restore the tooth's strength and ensure its longevity.
